Ministry Affiliations

Light of Life Ministry is an independent ministry run by its Director, controlled by its Board of Directors, and funded through contributions and the sell of ministry materials. Light of Life Ministry is associated with The Southern Methodist Church, not to be confused with the United Methodist Church. The Director, James O. Jones, Jr. is ordained through the Mid-South Conference of the Southern Methodist Church. The Board Chairman, Jack Davis, is also an ordained minister and pastor of the First Southern Methodist Church in Nashville, and the majority of the Board and staff are members of a Southern Methodist Church. This having been said, both the Director and Board Chairman were educated and received their respective degrees through the Free Will Baptist College in Nashville, TN., and maintain close connections with this sister denomination. In addition, one LOLM Board member, Keith Kenemer, is a Senior Account Executive with Randall House Publications (a Free Will Baptist operation) and a respected member of the Free Will Baptist denomination.

Our theological position is referred to as Wesleyan-Arminian, and it is under this heading that the vast majority of our materials and teachings would be classified. For those not familiar with, or having a distorted view of, the Arminian position, you are encouraged to obtain and read a book titled, Grace, Faith, Free Will - Contrasting Views of Salvation: Calvinism & Arminianism, by Dr. Robert E. Picirilli, available through Randall House Publications, Nashville, TN. This book defends the view that Dr. Picirilli refers to as "Reformation Arminianism." For those not so inclined, but still have an interest in learning more about what the true Arminian position teaches, you are encouraged to read the article on Calvinism and Arminianism written by the LOLM Director, James (Jim) Jones that can be found in the Articles section of this web-site.
